Welcome to CountyTaxSaver.com (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By accessing our website or purchasing any service from us, you (“Customer”, “User”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1. Description of Services
CountyTaxSaver.com provides digital tools and services designed to help Illinois homeowners:
- Check potential eligibility for homestead and similar property tax exemptions;
- Estimate possible tax savings and/or refunds based on public data and your inputs;
- Receive instructions or guidance on how to request exemptions or corrections from the county;
- Optionally upload supporting documents through a secure portal for review.
We are not a government agency, assessor’s office, law firm, or tax advisor. All final tax decisions, exemption approvals, and refund amounts are determined solely by the appropriate county authorities.
2. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Our service provides estimates and guidance based on:
- Publicly available property data;
- Information you provide (e.g., ownership status, occupancy, documents);
- Our internal calculations and assumptions.
We do not guarantee that:
- Any exemption will be approved by the county;
- The county will accept our calculations or estimates;
- Any refund or savings will match the estimated amount shown on our website;
- You will continue to qualify for an exemption in future years.
You are responsible for confirming your eligibility with your local county and for complying with all county rules, deadlines, and documentation requirements.
3. Customer Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your property, PIN, address, and ownership;
- Only represent that the property is owner-occupied if that is true and current;
- Upload clear and valid supporting documents if requested or required;
- Follow county submission instructions and meet any filing deadlines;
- Regularly review mail and/or online portals from your county for updates.
Incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information can affect your eligibility, results, and refund rights as described in these Terms.
4. Pricing and Payment
The price for each service is clearly displayed at checkout. By completing a purchase, you agree to pay the displayed fee using the payment methods made available.
Payments are processed securely by Stripe or another third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
Prices may be updated at any time for future orders. Price changes do not affect orders that have already been completed and confirmed.
5. Refund Policy
We want you to feel confident using CountyTaxSaver.com. We offer a limited 7-day refund window under the conditions described below.
5.1. Refund Eligibility
You may be eligible for a full refund if:
- You request a refund within 7 calendar days of your purchase date; and
- We have not yet submitted any forms or documentation to the county on your behalf (if your service includes submission); and
- You cooperate with us to resolve any issues, including providing documentation if you believe our eligibility assessment or estimate was incorrect.
5.2. Non-Refundable Situations
Except where prohibited by law, refunds will not be issued in the following situations:
- You request a refund more than 7 calendar days after the purchase date;
- We have already begun substantial work on your file, including analysis, report generation, or submission of materials to the county;
- The county denies an exemption or refund for reasons outside our control, including but not limited to: ineligibility, missing county deadlines, prior exemptions already applied, or county policy changes;
- You provided inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information that affected your eligibility or results;
- You change your mind about using the service after the work has begun or after the report was delivered.
5.3. How to Request a Refund

Please include the following in your email:
- Your full name;
- Your property PIN and address;
- Your order number (if available);
- A brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
If your refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method. Processing times may depend on your bank or card issuer.
6. Document Uploads and Privacy
When you upload documents (e.g., ID, tax bills, utility bills, or other proof of residence), you authorize us to use those documents solely for:
- Evaluating your potential exemption eligibility; and
- Preparing or assisting with any paperwork related to your property tax exemption or correction.
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with:
- County offices, if our service for you includes submitting information on your behalf;
- Stripe or other payment processors, as needed for payment;
- Service providers who help us operate the website (subject to confidentiality obligations).

7. Service Availability
We strive to keep CountyTaxSaver.com available and functioning reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service may be unavailable from time to time due to:
- Server or hosting issues;
- Maintenance or updates;
- Internet or network outages;
- Events beyond our reasonable control.
We are not responsible for any loss or damages arising from temporary unavailability of the website or delays in processing caused by such events.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CountyTaxSaver.com and its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages;
- Loss of tax savings, refunds, or benefits;
- Losses resulting from county decisions, delays, or errors;
- Losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete data supplied by you or from public data sources.
In any case, our total liability for any claim related to a purchased service is limited to the amount you actually paid for that specific service.
9. Chargebacks and Dispute Resolution
If you have any concerns about your purchase, we strongly encourage you to contact us first at support@countytaxsaver.com so we can review your case and attempt to resolve it.
By using our service, you agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve any issues directly with us before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute through your bank or card issuer.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the service shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, where permitted by law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Continued use of the website or services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
